JtotheC, one of the performers on our first RELEASE event, has a 7″ out. That’s a 45rpm or ’singleke” like they say. With “NoNo” and “Stomper” on it as original tracks and a remix by another RELEASE family member, LuiGi from Infinitskills.
RELEASE participator and ace beatmaker / shopowner Dyno is about to drop some music pressed on vinyl. We love that. Watch the teaser and buy it when it’s out.
San Soda, another RELEASE veteran is delivering heat on wax at an incredible rate. Check We Play House Recordings and Lany Records for essential House music from this talented cat.
And you can expect a 7” vinyl aka 45rpm by JtotheC in a couple of weeks. With a remix by Infinitskills’ LuiGi.
Nice to see all these boys taking it to the next level.
For those wondering if i-Sa is staying behind. Don’t worry. Pretty confident they’ll be bringing us some niceness soon.
San Soda did his first live performance on our RELEASE event back in October. We told y’all he was on his way to become bigger. Need some more proof ? Well, here’s a Podcast he did for the excellent Bodytonic website with lots of exclusives … .
This is the first of hopefully many mixes for a RELEASE mix series on Mixcloud. First one is compiled and mixed by Onda Sonora’s Disco Dalglish. The music is strictly by Belgian bedroom producers who’ve sent us beats (except Bioniq who’s from Vyborg, Russia) and except the last of the San Soda tracks none of it has been released yet. Hope you like it.
If you live in the Brussels area, are between 14 and 19 years old and want to learn more about Ableton you might want to check this. From December 21th till February 27th Culte, Recyclart, vzw Je m’en Fish, BunZer0 and Grimelock will organise workshops Ableton Live 8 at Recyclart. Lessons are in Dutch and French. Like it should in Brussels.
About time we announce so new things on this slice of the web. We’ve not been hibernating but preparing our next moves and that takes a little time. But it’ll be worth the wait, trust us.
What will you be able to expect from us in the weeks to come? Well, we’ll announce the date of the next big RELEASE event at Beursschouwburg, we’ll present a new concept called RELEASE sessions and we’ll start putting mixes online on a regular basis.
For that last thing we’re looking for beats and music of course but also for dj’s who are willing to make a mix consisting of mainly Belgian bedroom productions. We don’t mind some exoticness but it should be in context. For instance if it’s something released on an underground Belgian label it fits nicely or if it’s from a really exotic place. We wouldn’t mind to get a mix giving us a view on the Latvian or any other not so well-documented scene of bedroom producers. But in the first place we would love to get some mixes with Belgian underground music made with a bedroom producer spirit from Belgian dj’s. Because this will open our view and that of our public. We don’t claim to know it all and welcome what extends our knowledge. Get in touch with us if interested to participate to this.
One thing that’s already running is the weekly RELEASE pick on LDBK radio, our partner Laid Back’s online radio station. Every week we’ll pick a track by a bedroom producer and present it decently. That means you’ll hear one of us introducing the track after which it’ll be played in full length. We’ll try to accompany every track with a little profile and additional info on the site. A site which will be renewed, revamped and so on soon. The first track which has been aired (or however you might call that on online radio) was Title’s “Caravan”, the only true RELEASE hit so far, the second one will be Dyno’s “Furbee”. Check it out on LDBK radio and feel free to suggest tracks, comment or simply hook us up with your music.
Something you shouldn’t stop doing. Because we keep on playing those tracks in our regular sets and radio shows too. Our motto will always be “If we like it, We play it” so we don’t feel limited to playing it in a RELEASE context alone. Send your music to this email address.
The Laid Back guys played big chunks of the live performances by I-Sa, Infinitskills, JtotheC & the Bad Mothas and San Soda in their fm brussel radio show. They’ve put it up on Mixcloud for all of you to enjoy.
To gather the pictures taken at our event(s) and to collect artwork for our events to come we’ve started a FLICKR-pool especially for RELEASE. You can find it here. Please join and spread the word.
A Belgian special of Orsi’s “Little Miss Sunshine” radio show and a report about her visit to Brussels and more in particular RELEASE. Glad you liked it Orsi.
