the Graphic bit – Part 1
Time to present you the first series of graphical artists / photographers participating at RELEASE. The second batch follows tomorrow. Together with the VJ’s involved.

He’s the guy behind the impeccable On-Point site and thus one of our partners. He’s been painting in the little spare time he has and made with the results of that some name for himself. We’re glad he asked us if he could hang a few works on the wall. Here’s what he has to say about himself:
An unhealthy coffee addiction resulting in periods of insomnia, which in time combined with an uncompromising just-let-me-do-my-thing attitude gave birth to a trademark style.
Faces marked by the tension of modern day life, balancing on the tipping point between the grime of the city and the frivolous facade of metropolis.
Warm in their darkness, refined in their dirtiness.
Previous exhibitions :
2007, Expo du Quartier Anneessens, Brussels
2007, Lucy*, Antwerp
2008, Belgikolor, Brussels
2009, Bar Jeudi, Antwerp
wHo?

The guy most of you know as the guy who designed the Laid Back logo. But he’s got more aces up his sleeve and that will be proven this Saturday. I think he’s gonna do something with singer faces. Not hanging something on the wall but going for the space of the venue itself.

A Frenchman in Brussels. Originally from Strasbourg but now living in our lovely city. He’s doing graphic designs, illustrations, graffiti and more. Found us through our flyers and got in touch with us. We welcomed him with open arms. Very curious about his work.

Aka Said, fm brussel’s flying reporter, and his brother. Always cool to discover that someone you know picks up your flyer and gets involved without you having to ask. Didn’t know he made such cool photos either. Read the title watch his work and let your brain work out what the theme is. Making ugly things beautiful again. Love it.
