Just before summer a new record shop, Dust Dealers, opened in Brussles not far from St-Gillis’ parvis. One dedicated to soul and jazz with beatmaker Julien aka Oldy Clap behind the counter. With an Akai MPC always within reach he regularly invites local producers to pick 3 records blindfolded and make a tune sampling them. Le Motel and Turtle Master being the first in a series as you can see in the video’s below.

For cratediggers there’s plenty to go through and a well-equipped, lazy corner to listen to records. A rare feat in our town. For those up for the complete Onda Sonora vinyl & beer experience, one of our favourite craft beer shops, Malt Attacks, is just around the corner.

Every Thursday DJ-sets, film screenings or other events are scheduled keeping this shop in line with the current trend to do more than just selling records. Adding that social component so absent from the online game where so-called diggers confuse losing themselves on Discogs / eBay with collecting. Not that the internet is ignored completely as Julien shares a daily pick on the store’s facebook page.

Wa had a talk with Julien a few weeks ago in our radio show, mostly in French, which you can check here below.
